This is our third design forum of 2024 and we are excited to present these three accomplished architects in exploring design qualities that embody femininity, female perspective, and women's contributions to design and development in Atlanta. Deanna Murphy, AICP
Director of Planning
Deanna Murphy is an urban designer, planner, and architectural designer who works to enhance our cities through community-oriented place-making and inclusive design. Deanna has worked as a designer and planner in the private, non-profit, and public sectors over the past 20 years, including positions at the Georgia Conservancy, G.H. Forbes and Associates, and the City of Atlanta. She is Director of Planning at Sizemore Group, where she leads planning and architectural projects throughout the state. Deanna is a certified member of the American Planning Association, an expert in Tactical Urbanism - short-term, inexpensive placemaking strategies, a 2016 and 2021 alumni of Arts Leaders of Metro-Atlanta (ALMA) and a 2019 alumni of ULI Center for Leadership (CFL). Deanna co-founded PopATL, a tactical urbanism brain-trust that works to create excitement and possibilities through temporary installations that highlight how we can improve our everyday spaces for all. Deanna also currently serves as a DeKalb County Planning Commissioner.
Kimberley Wilson, RA
Vice President of Design and Construction Atlanta Beltline, Inc.
Kimberley Wilson joined Atlanta Beltline in September 2019 as the Vice President of Design and Construction. Wilson provides senior leadership to the ABI design and construction project delivery teams, including the planning and implementation of trails, streetscapes, and parks. Wilson has worked for both architectural firms and general contractors in Atlanta over a thirty year career, and in the latter half of her career she has led project management teams on behalf of Georgia Tech and the Atlanta Beltline. Her project experience includes retail and mixed-use developments such as North Highland Steel, the MARTA Lindberg transit-oriented development, and Gasket City Lofts. She has also contributed to landmark projects such as the Living Building at Georgia Tech and the restoration of both the Georgia State Capital and the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Heather Hubble, RA
Principal at TSW, Inc.
Following graduation, Heather joined TSW in June of 2004. Heather has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Heather is a Principal and Shareholder of TSW as well as the Architecture Studio Manager. Her current responsibilities include design lead, scheduling of staff, managing project teams, and quality control. Some notable projects Heather has led include Woodstock Downtown Building B, Castleberry Park, Evans Town Center, Trinity Anglican Church, Bolton Park Student Housing, Gulf Place Architecture, Stockbridge Amphitheater, and Gwinnett-Snellville Library & Business Building. Heather is a registered architect in multiple states throughout the south and is active in the American Institute of Architects and the Urban Land Institute. She believes that buildings should enhance their surrounding environment and complement the existing urban fabric. Heather lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children.
