A Message From Our Board Chairman, John Maximuk

Thank you for visiting the ADC's website and for your continued interest in architecture and design in Atlanta. It is our community and supporters that help make this organization the best it can be. As we look back on 2024, a spark of inspiration forms from the challenges we have overcome and the possibilities that form ahead of us.

This year we aimed to expand access to our programming through in-person events, social media, and our website. We not only succeeded in these goals, but have also increased our ability to archive and continue access to those events on our new Youtube channel. By the end of the year we will have offered 4 different in-person events centered around topics that range from sustainable design to new developments in Atlanta. In the next year, we will be expanding our community reach through partner organizations and bringing in fresh faces to our board.

All of our programming is free to the public and is made possible through generous donations from partnering organizations, businesses, and donors like you! Every dollar helps us maintain equitable access to educational content, professional resources, and continued connection between the industry, experts, and design enthusiasts. We hope that you will take a moment to lend your support to next year's programming through the link below. Every donation is tax deductible, and your name will be added to our donor list which we update annually.

What's next for the ADC? The future is looking bright as we expand content on both the website and our social apps. We will likely do our quarterly in-person events, but increasingly we will aim to make these available on multiple platforms for the convenience of our audience. Content including professional interviews, community topics, and questions of development in Atlanta will be highlighted throughout the year to bring the best available information to our community.

Studies show that education and continued learning help increase a sense of social responsibility, while imparting confidence and developing advocacy on behalf of one's self and others. The simple truth is that when we feel empowered to stand up and speak on topics that matter, we change our futures for the better. The ADC hopes to empower you to have better conversations about your built environment, your community, and what will best serve your neighborhoods. The city of Atlanta is expanding rapidly and without your voice, the developers and planners will continue to make those decisions for you.

Help us continue to support you and others in understanding your city and in providing resources that enable you to bring your best to the community and design conversations.
